Document Authenticity

Check a document that carries our seal

Every letter, power of attorney, mandate, quotation and invoice issued by this practice carries a holographic VERIFIED ORIGINAL seal, an encryption certificate number, and a QR code. Scan the QR code with your phone, paste what it says below, and this page will set out plainly what the document declares about itself.

Read this first — what this page does and does not do. This page reads the QR code's own contents and checks that they are structured the way our documents structure them. That is not proof of authenticity: a forger could copy the text. Only the practice can confirm a document against its own records, which is what the confirmation request further down is for. If a document matters — anything granting authority, demanding payment, or creating an obligation — ask us to confirm it.

What the QR code says

Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, then copy the text it shows and paste the whole thing here. It will begin with the words "VERIFIED ORIGINAL".

Read in your browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you deliberately submit a confirmation request below.
No QR code on the document? Documents issued before the sealed-document system was introduced, and plain drafts, carry no QR code. That does not make them invalid — but it does mean this page cannot read them. Use the confirmation request instead and quote the document's reference number.

What the document declares

Paste the QR contents on the left and press Read the QR contents. The breakdown will appear here.

Ask the practice to confirm this document

This is the step that actually confirms a document. Your request goes to Adv. Wilton, who checks the certificate number and reference against the practice's own records and replies to you directly.

Filled in automatically if you read a QR code above.
Please do not paste identity or registration numbers into this form. Some of our documents include a client's ID or registration number in the QR code so that the seal cannot be lifted onto another person's document. That number is not needed to confirm anything, and this page deliberately strips it out before sending — the certificate number and reference are enough.
Processing of your personal information (POPIA) I consent to Alice Wilton Consulting (Pty) Ltd collecting and processing the personal information I have entered above for the sole purpose of responding to this confirmation request. I understand it is stored securely, is not sold or shared for marketing, and that I may ask for it to be corrected or deleted. See the Privacy Policy.
If you think a document is fraudulent. Do not act on it, do not pay anything, and do not sign anything. Contact the practice directly on +27 (0)82 931 7395 or alicewilton@mweb.co.za — by phone or by typing the address yourself, not by replying to the document or following a link in it.
